Just across the street from the Beethoven house you bump into a cute Dalmation hiding its head in the pavement. But as you get closer you realize it’s a piece of sculpture.
Here, in this colorful art Gallery in Bonn, the German artist Detlef Carsten transforms actors for commercials into colorful portraits.
Detlef Carsten studied arts and art history at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz from 1979 until 1985. Then he continued his studies in painting at the Städelschule from 1985 to 1988 in Frankfurt Main and after several art performances the artistical view moved more to the paintings and sculptures.
One of his apprentices, Florian Pakidny, showed me his Bonn studio.
